Filchner Station was a German research station in the Antarctic. It was built on the Filchner-Ronne ice shelf in the South Weddell Sea in 1982. The station was named after geographer and explorer Wilhelm Filchner (1877–1957).

In 1998, the A-38 iceberg of several thousand square kilometers in size with the then unmanned station separated from the ice shelf. By a salvage action in February 1999, the complete station was dismantled and transported to the mainland using the Polarstern vessel. The accommodation containers offered space for twelve scientists and technicians. Due to snowfall, they were placed on support pillars that had to be lifted by about 1 m every two to three years. The position of the station had changed continuously. Its northeast drift was about 1000 m per year.
